Dr. Martuge has worked in the field for over 25 years. She created a special presentation for us at this time when all Westchester County residents are all coping with the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Public health emergencies, such as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) can shake our sense of safety causing feelings of uncertainty and anxiety.
Dr. Martuge has created a free workshop that covers topics including coping tools and strategies to help reduce stress and anxiety, the importance of self-care at this time, strategies to help your children manage their own stress and anxiety at this time, and guidelines for how to talk to your children about what is happening in their world that has changed so suddenly.
The Executive Board of the Tuckahoe PTA wishes to, first and foremost, send our support to all of our families as we as a school community navigate this challenging situation together. We hope that everyone remains safe and healthy throughout this time.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all of our Administrators, Teachers, and other School Staff for their leadership, commitment, and dedication to our students. Every educator has taken on the challenge with positivity and creativity, playing a vital role in ensuring the continued education of our students in the most uncertain of times–from technology to curriculum to support services to facilities, we thank each and every one of you for your efforts.
The Tuckahoe PTA remains committed to resuming as many activities, programs, and events as possible once we are in a position to do so safely and responsibly. We continue to post updates on our web site www.tuckahoepta.com. We also serve as a resource for families who may have questions or concerns. Do not hesitate to reach out to Board members, listed on the web site, with specific questions as they may arise. If we cannot answer them, we will try to put you in touch with someone who can.

Building Bridges is back for its 6th year at Cottle School! Be a part of this wonderful program that the kids truly look forward to every year.
These lessons will be done in each classroom where the children will get the opportunity to participate in hands-on, interactive activities. Each grade also will also attend an assembly with a wonderful speaker.

The time commitment for volunteering is minimal – just 2-3 hours of your time. You will work with 1 or 2 other parents in a classroom to run the sessions. Don’t worry! We provide the script, the materials and we will give you a short training.
Training sessions will be held on February 12, 2020, either at 8:30 am and 7:30 pm in the Cottle Auditorium. Please plan to attend one session, which lasts 30-45 minutes.
Questions/comments about volunteering may be directed to: Alona Trinidad (alonasantri@gmail.com) and Charlie Zegers (charlie.zegers@gmail.com)
We are looking forward to another wonderful Building Bridges Week!
