March Is Reading Month – Celebrate with the Tuckahoe PTA!

The Tuckahoe PTA Pick A Reading Partners (PARP) Committee, in conjunction with the Cottle library, is excited to announce a lineup of fun events to celebrate March Is Reading Month! 

All Month

Cottle children are encouraged to complete the reading log provided (in school or for printing at home) to track their reading throughout the month. Submit your completed reading logs and watch the Cottle Reading Thermometer heat up! Use the calendar for fun activities to encourage reading! 

Thursday, March 18 – during school

Nick Bruel, author of the Bad Kitty picture books and chapter-book series, will pay a virtual visit to Cottle kindergarten, first, second, and third graders on Thursday, March 18, 2021.  

Thursday, March 25 – during school

Chris Grabenstein, author of Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, will be paying a virtual visit to the fourth and fifth graders on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 9:50 am.  The students are currently listening to the book during their library period. 

Thursday, March 25 – evening

Come join Mr. Morash and Mr. Kilgallen for a virtual Principal’s Pajama Read-Along! Pajamas, stuffed animals, blankets, and anything cozy are encouraged!

Scheduled times:

5:30-6:00 pm: K and 1st Grade

6:00-6:30 pm: 2nd and 3rd Grade

6:30-7:00 pm: 4th and 5th Grade

And later in March…

Students can participate in an optional “Design a Bookmark” activity. All students will get a blank bookmark to design/decorate at home.
