March is Reading Month! And to celebrate, the Tuckahoe PTA Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) Committee, in conjunction with the Cottle library, invites you to join Mr. Morash and Mr. Kilgallen for a virtual Principal’s Pajama Read-Along Thursday, March 25! Pajamas, stuffed animals, blankets, and anything cozy are encouraged!

Grades K-3 will read Dr. De Soto by William Steig

Grades 4-5 will read The Third Level (short story) by Jack Finney

Deadline Extended – Spring Plant Sale Fundraiser – Order by 04/11

Spring is almost here! Soon birds will be chirping and flowers will be blooming. The Tuckahoe PTA has partnered with Help Us Grow.Today to bring you a delightful selection of flowering plants to brighten your home and garden. All plants may be hung or placed in plant pots. Twenty percent of all sales proceeds will be returned to the PTA to support our programs and services.

As a service to the community, the Tuckahoe PTA’s Health and Safety Committee is forwarding news of an upcoming program series organized by the Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe Coalition (BET) of interest to parents and caregivers.

In 2008, Kathi Sullivan lost her 17-year-old daughter to underage drinking. Since that time, she has teamed up with the JVC Foundation to share her story and to advocate for change.

Please click here for information on how to submit candid photos of your child/children to be featured in the yearbook. This is very important especially since parents are not allowed in the school to take pictures this year. We need submissions from all grades at Cottle, as students in every grade are featured in the yearbook. It is quick and easy and your children will love seeing these as they flip through their yearbooks!

Senator Shelley Mayer and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin Discuss State School Funding

Please join the Eastchester PTA Council Advocacy Committee as they host a discussion with state representatives on return to school and state school funding.

State Senator and Chair of the Education Committee Shelley Mayer and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin will discuss where state government is with assistance on returning to school under Covid-19, state funding for schools to help defray costs incurred during the pandemic, and what we can do to advocate for it. We will be joined by Eastchester school district administration, teachers, and Board of Education who will discuss the state of our district.
